Gayle Gifford's Fundraiser

Be a library hero!
Gayle Gifford's fundraising campaign
Yes, it's that time of year again! Your opportunity to give to a great cause and one of my favorite charities.
As you know, I'm a proud board member of the Community Libraries of Providence - so much so that I am now Treasurer. Yes, the City of Providence provides our foundational funding. But as a private charitable nonprofit (and with city budgets under threat from federal cutbacks), your donation enables our nine neighborhood libraries to offer so many extras - maker spaces, preschool and music programs, sewing classes and more -- all for free!
If you live in Providence, then you know that you can benefit from all that our libraries offer. But guess what, if you live outside of Providence you can still attend IRL or our virtual programming. And, if you live in RI and have a library card, you can still get books that are in our library but not yours.
Now more than ever we need your help. Libraries and librarians are under attack across the United States. We have not been immune -- but we are standing strong!
Your support signals that you recognize the critical importance of libraries to the preservation of our democracy.
So, please make a gift today.
Warmest,
Gayle
P.S. Thank you to everyone who donated last year. You rallied and I was deeply grateful.
P.P.S. While you are at it, please tell your RI state legislators to support the Freedom to Read Act.
