Help Keep Libraries FREE! Join me and help make a difference, please give today.
Friends - As many of you know, my mother was a librarian in the Wanskuck, Downtown, and South Providence libraries in Providence for over 20 years, and I spent countless hours in the libraries reading, learning, tutoring, and watching the librarians help patrons with everything from homework to job applications.
The public libraries are truly special places that uplift our neighborhoods, with welcoming spaces and offerings for all ages, as well as free services that everyone can depend on. Last year, our libraries hosted over 5,000 programs with more than 68,000 total attendants: book clubs, celebrations, classes, and concerts, all over Providence and all in our libraries. Please join me in supporting Community Libraries of Providence in this year's Week of Giving. All donations made this week will be totaled and matched as part of the United Way's 401 Gives Day of Giving (3/31-4/1) - last year we raised almost $50,000 for the libraries!
